The so called E-cigarette comprises of a stainless steel tube and a nicotine cartridge. I must say that the E-cigarette looks very much like any normal cigarette. The device is battery powered and works by heating up the nicotine cartridge which in-turn releases nicotine in droplet format; the smoker inhales, gets their nicotine hit without all the tar and carbon monoxide and exhales mist. Great idea you may think, but wait for it, tests by trading standards have found that because of the amount of Nicotine that this device releases they should come with a “Highly Toxic” warning. Apparently they are made in China where QA standards are not as good as ours.
Considering that the NHS spend billions of pounds of tax payers money on smoking related conditions, instead of criticising, why does the Department of Health not work with the Electronic Cigarette company so that they reduce the amount of Nicotine that this device releases and market it openly in the UK.
