American Swine Flu

According to the HPA (Health protection Agency) the swine flu was first reported in Southern California and Texas. So why-oh-why is all the press reporting that it was began in Mexico City? The word scapegoat springs to mind!

The future of smoking!

The so called E-cigarette comprises of a stainless steel tube and a nicotine cartridge. I must say that the E-cigarette looks very much like any normal cigarette. The device is battery powered and works by heating up the nicotine cartridge which in-turn releases nicotine in droplet format; the smoker inhales, gets their nicotine hit without all the tar and carbon monoxide and exhales mist. Great idea you may think, but wait for it, tests by trading standards have found that because of the amount of Nicotine that this device releases they should come with a “Highly Toxic” warning. Apparently they are made in China where QA standards are not as good as ours.

Considering that the NHS spend billions of pounds of tax payers money on smoking related conditions, instead of criticising, why does the Department of Health not work with the Electronic Cigarette company so that they reduce the amount of Nicotine that this device releases and market it openly in the UK.

Crunchie Nut

A Scottish GP is calling for a tax to be put on chocolates to combat obesity. Apparently eating chocolates is the main cause of making us fat and if nothing is done about it now, obesity will cost the NHS and in turn the tax payer billions of pounds in the near future. So in a nutshell people who choose to be fat (by eating chocolate) need to pay for their future medical bills, Genius! or is it? Tax rises in the middle of a credit crunch? This would not be too bad if I was earning an average of 100K per annum. But unfortunately I am not a GP!

Google serves up behavioural ads!

My days of surfing for porn are numbered!

Google have announced that they are going to be targeting their users with behaviour-based ads. This means if you log on to the web and search Google for cars, you will be targeted by adds for cars when you next log on!

Seeing that the majority of Google searches are for porn, I can see a lot of men getting in a lot of trouble with their wives not mentioning work!
